Our story

It all started back in 2022 with a wild little idea. With full-time jobs on opposite schedules, we barely saw each other, let alone spending time with friends and family. Skewiies began as a way to change that, a humble food trailer we could roll out every other weekend, cooking good food and reconnecting with the people we love at markets and festivals.

But then came the big question. What would we serve?

We had just returned from travelling across Asia, still buzzing from the bold flavours, vibrant street food, and electric night-life. The energy, the colours, the community… it all stuck with us. Bringing that feeling home to Sydney felt like the most natural thing in the world.

So Skewiies became our way of sharing those experiences through our flavours, our vibe, and the community we build along the way.

Today, whether we’re at a market, festival, concert or event, that same spirit comes with us. From tender lamb and crunchy chicken to juicy prawns and chewy rice cakes, every skewer reflects the flavours and memories that inspired Skewiies.

Fast forward to now, we’ve cooked our way through major high-volume events, sharpened our operations, and built a trailer full of bold visuals, fast service and big vibes. What started as two newbies trying to make their way in this new scene has grown into a full-fledged food truck sharing flavour, culture and connection, bringing good food and good people together, one skewer at a time.

With love,

Peter & Jo
